Trolls call for Jenny Slate to be cancelled amid Blake Lively lawsuit
by CYDNEY YEATES FOR DAILYMAIL.COM · Mail OnlineBlake Lively and Justin Baldoni's It Ends With Us costar Jenny Slate is being bombarded with nasty messages from trolls amid their bitter legal battle, with many calling for her to be cancelled.
The actress, 42, starred alongside the pair in Colleen Hoover's movie adaptation, playing 40-year-old Justin's on-screen sister.
Jenny's last Instagram upload – a promotional post with jewelry brand Catbird dated November 17 – has recently been mobbed with brutal comments from users who have accused her of siding with Blake, 37, and 'standing for nothing.'
It comes after DailyMail.com reported last week that Blake had been swamped with cruel comments, and hours after Colleen deactivated her Instagram account.
Attacking Jenny's comment section, one said: 'You should be ashamed for deciding to follow an elite instead of the actual guy trying to advocate for domestic violence victims, I hope you and the rest of the cast issue an apology?
'Why be so quiet now that the truth is out?'
'An apology to Justin from you should happen asap… video shows Blake lying,' another said.
A third slammed: 'You need to be cancelled too. Justin wasn't famous enough so you basically let Blake and Ryan bully Justin to take over the film!
'Blake was always supposed to be just an actress on the film like you! How do you not see how this was wrong?!'
A fourth blasted: 'So disappointed in you [thumbs down emoji] definitely not a fan of yours anymore. Unfollow. Team Justin!'
'Jenny is the girl that really wants to be liked by the mean popular girl,' slammed a fifth.
'And so she does whatever it takes even when she know she's wrong, to please the popular mean girl. JENNY STANDS FOR NOTHING.'
'Just wow!! Super disappointed!' a sixth said, while another simply added: 'Justice for Justin!
An eighth warned: 'Jenny it's not too late to fiercely come out against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds unless you're happy with how you ended your career.'
Jenny previously voiced support for Blake in a statement via the Today show.
'As Blake Lively's castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,' she said.
'Blake is a leader, loyal friend and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her.
'What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening. I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.'
Blake filed a complaint in the California Civil Rights Department on December 20, accusing Justin of sexual harassment and spearheading an alleged smear campaign as retaliation for her raising concerns about his inappropriate behavior on set.
He staunchly denied the allegations.
At the same time, the New York Times released a story based on Blake's legal filing that accused him of orchestrating a negative publicity campaign against her and put the smell claim front and center.
In turn, Justin sued the Times for defamation last week, and along with his publicists launched a $400m lawsuit against Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds that accused her of using her celebrity power to hijack his film and attempt to torpedo his career.
In their damning lawsuit, they claimed that Blake cooked up a scheme to kill their careers and discredit them by making false accusations of sexual harassment.
On Tuesday, Justin's lawyer released a bombshell video showing the pair on the It Ends With Us set to counter Blake's claims she was sexually harassed by him while filming that particular scene.
The explosive video exclusively released by DailyMail.com, showed all three takes of a dance scene with the pair on apparent great terms before she accused him of sexual harassment.
Blake in turn hit back at the clip's release, saying it proved that she was uncomfortable during the scene.
