Mafia: The Old Country Free Ride Update Releases Today

by · DSOGaming

Hangar13 will release a major title update for Mafia: The Old Country later today. This update will add a Free Ride Mode, something that will please a lot of Mafia fans. So, let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from it.

The Free Ride Mode will let you explore the environment at your own pace and take on a series of new Challenges. This mode is focused primarily on new gameplay content and does not have any bearing on the narrative aspects of Enzo’s journey.

That said, Free Ride contains a variety of Challenges that are unlocked based on your main story Chapter completion. You can jump between the campaign and Free Ride via the pause and main menus as you make your way through the story. Or you can wait until you’ve finished every Chapter so you can embark into Free Ride with all starting Challenges available.

This update will also add new free content to the game. To be more precise, you will get 16 new outfits, 4 new knives, 3 new guns, 3 new charms, and 2 new cars. Not only that, but the devs have added some new features to the game.

The first of them is a First-Person Driving Mode. Players will experience the Valle Dorata from the driver’s seat in the most immersive way possible, including new detailed car interiors and a close-up view of character animations.

Another highly requested feature is the Photo Mode. This will let you pause the action with the push of a button, capture the game’s beautiful vistas and harrowing mid-firefight moments, and then share them online or with friends.

The devs have also added a new difficulty mode, called Classic Difficulty. Classic Difficulty takes cues from the original Mafia and Mafia: Definitive Edition games.

Two more features have also been added: Cinema Siciliano Mode and the Sundial. Cinema Siciliano Mode makes the game look like an old black-and-white movie, with vintage-style audio, Sicilian voice acting, and a cleaner UI for a more cinematic feel. The Sundial, on the other hand, lets you change the weather in real time.

And there you have it. Mafia: The Old Country just got a lot better. To be honest, I didn’t mind the lack of a Free Ride Mode when I played. Still, this was something that a lot of Mafia fans wanted. So, kudos to the devs for listening to them.

Have fun!
