Shenmue III Enhanced Edition Announced, Free PC Upgrade Confirmed

by · DSOGaming

ININ Games has just announced and detailed an Enhanced Edition for Shenmue 3. Shenmue III Enhanced Edition will be a free upgrade on PC for those who already own the game. So, let’s see what it brings to the table.

Shenmue 3 Enhanced Edition will have sharper textures, richer details, faster load times. On PC, it will support both NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR. However, we don’t know which version of those upscalers it will use. We also don’t know whether there will be support for Frame Gen.

The Enhanced Edition will now have 4K textures. Players can expect refined, more detailed environments and characters. The game will also have more NPCs on screen. As such, the city village Niaowu will feel more alive with more characters populating the streets.

And that’s not all. The devs have also added a new optional camera view inspired by Shenmue and Shenmue II, giving players a fresh way to experience the game. On top of that, there are some handy gameplay changes. For example, you can adjust the stamina system if you want, heal up before battles, and deal with lower money costs so progression feels smoother and less frustrating.

It’s also worth noting that all the major changes can be toggled to preserve the original experience for purists. So, if you want to play the game as it was before, you will be able to do so. The new changes won’t be forced on you. So, kudos to the devs for making them optional.

There is currently no ETA on when this Enhanced Edition will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Stay tuned for more!
