Prince Harry Apologizes To Canada For Wearing Dodgers Hat At World Series -- Claims He ‘Was Under Duress’!

by · Perez Hilton

Prince Harry is deeply sorry for “hatgate”!

The Duke of Sussex caused controversy when attending Game 4 of the World Series along with his wife Meghan Markle in matching Dodgers hats — despite the fact that the Canadian team, the Toronto Blue Jays, are part of the Commonwealth! Later, when LA won the championship, his pal claimed he was disappointed ’cause he was rooting for the Blue Jays all along. But the damage was done, and fans were already offended AF!

Now, he’s in Canada — and having to apologize for his blunder! On Thursday, Harry laughed off the scandal while chatting with CTV News, the 41-year-old opened up:

“Oh, the LA Dodgers hat — hatgate. Well, firstly, I would like to apologize to Canada for wearing it. Secondly, I was under duress. There wasn’t much choice.”

Um, WHAT?! Was Meg demanding he root for her home team?? Well, not exactly. At least, that’s not the story he’s going with. He explained the predicament:

“I was invited to the LA Dodgers box or the dugout by the owner himself. So, I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do.”

Hmm. We get it’s a little awkward, but he could’ve just not worn a hat at all, right? Stayed neutral?

Now, though, he’s going to be proudly sporting a Blue Jays hat. Putting one on, he insisted:

“I’m going to wear this from now on to make sure I don’t make any more of those mistakes.”

He also said that for the rest of the games, he was cheering for the “Blue Jays throughout.” Harry then tried to lighten the mood by offering ANOTHER excuse for why he wore the opponent’s merch! He joked:

“When you’re missing a lot of hair on top [of your head] and you’re sitting under flood lights, you’ll take any hat that’s available.”

LOLz!
