Charlie Cox's Daredevil will soon be back in his first proper Marvel Cinematic Universe outing, and now we have a full trailer for "Daredevil: Born Again." It's been a long road for Cox's hero, who initially debuted as part of Netflix's series of Marvel shows before "Daredevil" was canceled. But Marvel Studios wasn't about to let a fan-favorite actor/character combo get away, and ultimately brought Cox back into the MCU fold with a brief cameo in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and a recurring role in the messy, meta legal sitcom "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law."

Now, however, it's almost time to dive back into the seedier, street-level world from which Cox's Daredevil first sprang, with Disney+ series "Daredevil: Born Again." "Marvel's Echo" set the stage for this latest streaming series, which will see many of the actors from the original Netflix "Daredevil" show return, including Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Franklin "Foggy" Nelson. We're also going to see the return of Jon Bernthal's Punisher in the new series, as well as the resurrection of Bullseye from the Netflix show.

Following what /Film's Jacob Hall described as some "grimy and nasty" "Daredevil: Born Again" footage shown at 2024's D23, we now have a full trailer for the long-awaited series. It certainly looks as though the gritty world of Netflix's "Daredevil" has not been tainted by any Disney sheen, with the new trailer promising a suitably brutal return for Charlie Cox's Man Without Fear.

Daredevil: Born Again looks just as brutal as the original series

Marvel Studios

Well, Disney certainly is keen to convince us it can do the whole unadulterated violence thing as good as anyone else. The "Daredevil: Born Again" trailer showcases some pretty gnarly stuff as it reintroduces us to Charlie Cox's hero, who seems to be a tad more angry than he was last time around. In fact, anger seems to be a central theme of this new season, with Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk telling Matt Murdock during their diner rendezvous, "It's hard to come to terms with a violent nature." Not if you're Disney, apparently, as the company appears to be coming to terms with Daredevil's infamous proclivity for violence by embracing it wholeheartedly. Throughout this trailer, bones are snapping and blood is spilling, which should appease fans of the original Netflix series who are surely expecting nothing less from the return of Cox's Man Without Fear.

Elsewhere, the trailer is full of teases for some of the series' most anticipated new inclusions, from Kamar de los Reyes' Hector Ayala/White Tiger to the villain Muse, whose actor is yet to be revealed. We also get glimpses of Jon Bernthal's Punisher (who's evidently dealing with some ongoing anger issues of his own), as well as shots of Matt Murdock hanging with his buds Karen Page and Franklin "Foggy" Nelson.

Interestingly enough, it seems that in the new series, Murdoch has retired from his hero persona, telling Fisk that "a line was crossed." Meanwhile, Fisk himself is running for mayor of New York City, which quite understandably has Murdoch incredulous at best. By the end of this series, we know the protector of Hell's Kitchen will be donning his classic garb once again, as the final shots of the trailer show him in his full Daredevil suit absolutely laying waste to several opponents — likely in pursuit of stopping Fisk's ascendence and dealing with the myriad threats revealed during the trailer, which also include the return of Benjamin Poindexter aka Bullseye (Wilson Bethel).

Overall, it looks as though Disney has done its utmost to preserve the tone of the original series and this trailer teases a promising return to Hell's Kitchen.

"Daredevil: Born Again" debuts March 4, 2025, on Disney+.
