Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away on October 25, 2025, succumbing to kidney failure despite having undergone a transplant earlier this year in an effort to look after his wife.  The industry is left in shock by the loss of the actor, who leaves behind his devoted spouse, Madhu Shah, herself battling Alzheimer’s disease.

On October 27, his friends and colleagues gathered for a prayer meet to commemorate his life and legacy.  During the gathering, Madhu was seen softly humming his favourite song, “Tere Mere Sapne” from the film Guide, as the renowned singer Sonu Nigam and others performed it in tribute.  Producer-friend JD Majethia shared that the intention was “celebrating life of #satishshah … His favourite songs chosen over usual bhajans keeping his preference in mind were sung.” He added: “This song was also to convey what Madhu bhabi’s last words of the songs are… WATCH IT TILL THE END to know what we all wish to promise #satishshah.”

In a touching back-story, Satish first met Madhu at the SIPTA Film Festival and proposed to her twice before she finally asked him to approach her parents. The two became engaged in 1972, and for 50 years of marriage he often called her his “lucky charm.” Madhu stayed away from the spotlight, working as a fashion designer; the couple, married for five decades, chose not to have children, opting instead to dedicate their lives to each other.

Their journey together, marked by both love and challenge, now reaches a deeply emotional moment — as Madhu, though grief-stricken and unsteady, hums the song her husband held dear, surrounded by friends, family and memories.
