Deepika Padukone’s Fans Slam Kalki 2898 AD Makers For Removing Her Name From OTT End Credits, Call It ‘Unprofessional’

Fans of Deepika Padukone have expressed sharp criticism of the makers of Kalki 2898 AD — Vyjayanthi Films — following the omission of her name from the film’s end-credits on its OTT release. The film, which originally released theatrically in 2024 and is now streaming on platforms including Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, has sparked uproar after viewers noticed the change.

A fan account shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) highlighting the missing credit and wrote: “credits aren’t just names at the end of a movie. They’re acknowledgment, accountability, and respect for the work put in. When someone like Deepika Padukone, who’s played a pivotal role in shaping the emotional core of Kalki, isn’t credited even after months of OTT release.” On Reddit, the clip went viral, with users calling the move “downright unprofessional; she’s literally in the film.” One comment added: “This is in very bad taste.”

The controversy follows earlier reports that Deepika would no longer be part of the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD (which has already been announced).   While neither Vyjayanthi Films nor Deepika have publicly responded to this latest issue, fans are strongly voicing their disapproval of the apparent removal of her name after the fact.
