See Samus ‘Survive’ in New Metroid Prime 4 Trailer

by · Siliconera

Nintendo shared a new “Survive” trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and it specifically looks at gameplay footage from the Switch 2 edition of the game. It spends about a minute looking at different situations in the game, giving us a chance to see some peeks at event scenes and gameplay segments. Samus’ new motorcycle is also shown off.

The video begins with Samus landing on the planet Viewros. We then see her approach a number of notable locations there, entering to face challenges within them. Prime examples of gameplay footage start to come up at the 20 second mark. From there, we actually step inside the suit and see things from her perspective. (The Metroid Prime series always offers a first-person view.) We see her open doors and create platforms to reach a new area in an outdoor location. This also provides chances to see her face the natural inhabitants of the planet and other opponents, with some of the named examples being a Lamorn Mechanoid Psy-bot Soldier and a boss named Aberax. It closes out with examples of her riding her new motorcycle-like vehicle.

This comes just after a new art book for this series appeared. Nintendo and Piggyback released Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective. That focused on the first three games and the remaster of the original one.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will come to the Switch and Switch 2 on December 4, 2025.
