The action-packed show Reacher is based on the books by Lee Childs, and has become one of the streaming service’s most popular titles. Ritchson plays the title role, a former US military operative who became a drifter, travelling town to town righting wrongs and trying to escape his past.
Season three is based on Persuader, the seventh Jack Reacher novel, and sees the character entering the dark underbelly of a criminal organisation when he attempts to rescue a DEA informant. As fans would expect, the trailer is filled with action, as Ritchson fight various villains and is confronted with a face from his past.
He also comes up against someone even bigger than him in Paulie, played by bodybuilder Olivier Richters, nicknamed The Dutch Giant. While Ritchson is an impressive 6’3”, Richters stands nearly a foot taller at 7’2”. The pair go head-to-head as their characters engage in what looks like an ongoing fight, as well as arm-wrestling.
Reacher has achieved great success since debuting in 2022, surpassing the popularity of the Tom Cruise film versions, which drew criticism due to the star’s stature being different than the character in the books. A spin off focusing on Frances Neagley, the character played by Maria Sten, was announced last year.
Reacher season three debuts on Amazon’s Prime Video on February 20, with the first three episodes being released together.
