The latest season of the HBO comedy-drama, which UK-based fans can watch on Sky and NOW, will be coming to screens on April 11, a day after it premieres in the US. And, this afternoon, Sky dropped the trailer for the new season – watch it below.
It looks as though season four will focus on Deborah, played by Jean Smart, and Hannah Einbinder’s Ava, as they strive to get their late-night show off the ground despite the pair increasingly coming into conflict with each other – amid some serious side-eye from Ava.
The pair leave a conference room with Deborah saying to Ava, “Well, aren’t you a big brave girl?”
“I guess I am,” Ava retorts, before Deborah looks Ava in the eyes and replies, “We’ll see.”
The duo’s manager, Jimmy LuSaque Jr. (Paul W. Downs), reprimands Ava for blackmailing her way into the job of head writer for the show, while Deborah’s daughter DJ (Kaitlin Olson) is further along in her pregnancy, and Deborah and Ava also try their hand at driving race cars.

Season four comes after lots of critical acclaim for the show, including three wins at the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2024.
Returning for the new season alongside Smart, Einbinder, Downs and Olson are the likes of Megan Stalter, Rose Abdoo, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu and Johnny Sibilly.
A host of new cast members had previously been announced, with Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins, Bresha Webb, Robby Hoffman, Eric Balfour, Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore III, Holmes, Jasmine Ashanti, Katy Sullivan, Matt Oberg, and Sandy Honig all appearing in the upcoming season.
For fans struggling to wait until April for the new season, or those who’d like a recap, the first three seasons are all available on Sky and NOW.
Meanwhile, it was announced yesterday (via the New York Times) that Smart is set to star in a one-woman Broadway show, Call Me Izzy, that will begin previews in May and open in June.
