I love Thursdays only because Netflix offers us something new to watch – and this week, that's Nobody Wants This season 2 and The Elixir.
This week, we brilliantly don't even have to choose between streaming a TV series or an original movie, because we've been served up both at the click of a button. There's even better news if you're like me and can never decide what genre you want to watch, because our two new releases are completely different.
Where Nobody Wants This season 2 picks up Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah's (Adam Brody) unlikely love story, The Elixir follows a family who run a herbal medicine business that accidentally leads to a zombie virus outbreak. Just another day, eh?
Frankly, I don't think you can miss watching either, so let's dig a little deeper into what you can expect.
Why you need to stream Nobody Wants This season 2 and The Elixir on Netflix this weekend

Nobody Wants This season 2 is easily our most anticipated of the duo, and with Brody and Bell's impeccable chemistry (even their surnames sound good together), it's not surprising why. New episodes pivot from falling in love against the odds to life after the 'happy ever after,' and that in itself is refreshing.
We could debate for days about whether season 2 lives up to the hype of the first season, but for me, they're on an even playing field. Just because the couple's initial challenges have paled into the background doesn't mean new obstacles haven't taken their place, and it's a seamless shift.
The jokes are still landing, but the emotional depths are being taken to a new place. Where the story could so easily fall into predictable territory, it does, but in exactly the way you want it to. What's even better is that Nobody Wants This shows no signs of slowing down, judging by its final episode.
