  • Marvel has unveiled the fourth teaser for Avengers: Doomsday
  • It reveals a team-up that MCU fans have been waiting to see
  • This might be the last trailer we see for a while

The fourth – and likely final (for now, anyway) – teaser for Avengers: Doomsday has been released online by Marvel Studios.

Dropping today (January 13), our latest look at the Marvel Phase 6 movie is, as expected following last week's leak, centered on a meeting between the Wakandans and The Fantastic Four. Indeed, the teaser's final shot shows Shuri, aka the Black Panther, and Wakanda King M'Baku exchanging pleasantries with Ben Grimm/The Thing.

It's an encounter that marks The Fantastic Four's official arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Yes, they've already appeared in a Marvel Studios production in 2025's The Fantastic Four: First Steps film. However, that movie was set in an alternate reality, so Doomsday is the first time we'll see Marvel's First Family interact with the heroes that populate the MCU.

Of course, Shuri and M'Baku's rendezvous with The Thing begs the question: how do The Fantastic Four make the leap to the MCU? My article explaining The Fantastic Four: First Steps' ending proposes a couple of theories, as does the post-credits scene of another 2025 MCU film in Thunderbolts. You can read about that in my Thunderbolts ending explained piece.

Anyway, Doomsday's fourth teaser also reunites us with another superpowered individual in Namor. The ruler of the underwater kingdom known as Talokan was also announced as part of Avengers: Doomsday's initial 27-strong character roster last March. Given his ties to the MCU's Black Panther film series – he was the primary antagonist of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – it isn't a surprise to see him spotlighted, too.

To some Marvel fans, it might seem like a strange move to release a teaser containing these characters.

However, Black Panther and The Fantastic Four have an extensive history that stretches back to the former's Marvel Comics debut in 'Fantastic Four #52' in July 1966. Meanwhile, Namor has shared a complicated relationship with Sue Storm and Reed Richards dating back to 1962's 'Fantastic Four #4' – a comic issue that introduced a love triangle that endures to this day.
