Gen V season 2 has premiered on Prime Video, and The Boys spin-off wastes no time paying tribute to one of its late cast members.
Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson in the Amazon TV Original's first season, died following a motorbike accident in March 2024. Understandably, it was, and still is, a tragedy felt deeply by the show's cast and crew.
In the days following Perdomo's death, Gen V's creative team confirmed they wouldn't recast the character for the show's second season. Its story would be revised to reflect Perdomo's death and, by proxy, Anderson's in-universe demise.
With season 2's first three episodes out now on Prime Video, we finally know how Gen V's writing team decided to navigate this emotionally devastating real-world event and honor Perdomo in the best and most sensitive way possible.
Full spoilers immediately follow for season 2's three-episode premiere.
At the end of season 2 episode 1, titled 'New Year, New You', Jordan and Emma are finally reunited with Marie following the latter's escape from Elmira Adult Rehabilitation Center. Remember, the trio and Andre were imprisoned there after the cataclysmic events that transpired at Godolkin University, which involved the quartet, in Gen V season 1's finale.
Over the course of 'New Year, New You', we learn that Marie broke out of the facility and, in the process, left her friends behind. It's a betrayal most keenly felt by Jordan, who continues to hold Marie's selfish actions over her head for most of season 2's opening three entries.
