Netflix has released the first trailer for new movie Ladies First (which you can catch up with below), and it's safe to say that the first look hasn't gone down well.

Starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike, the film is set to follow "a ladies man who finds his life upended when he wakes up in a parallel world dominated by women.

"With the rules of engagement changed, he goes head-to-head with a fiery female colleague in a playful satire about what happens when the script is flipped."

Already dubbed "the worst trailer I've ever seen" by fans online, Ladies First looks to be an English-language remake of the French 2018 film I Am Not An Easy Man.

Even so, there's another broad stroke of irony we haven't even considered.

First, let's dig a little deeper into these fan reactions. One posted on X/Twitter, "No wonder there are massive layoffs in Hollywood right now," with another agreeing "I feel like this script might have been sitting on the shelf awhile."

"This concept would have gone so hard in like, 1987," a third weighs in.
