Young said he hopes his offer will "ease some of the unwarranted stress and threats” the islanders have faced amid President Trump's bid to take over the Danish territory
He also doubled down on his anti-Jeff Bezos stance, sharing that he has wiped all of his music from Amazon

Rock legend Neil Young has taken a swipe at Donald Trump by offering his entire digital back catalog to the residents of Greenland for free, following the US President's bid to take control of the Danish territory.

The singer-songwriter uploaded one of many posts to his site sharing that Greenland residents can now sign up for a year’s free access to his music through the Neil Young Archives web page – which would usually cost between $24.99-$99.99 annually according to Rolling Stone.

In addition to the sign-up link, Young announced his solidarity with the people of Greenland in a lengthy statement, saying “I hope my music and music films will ease some of the unwarranted stress and threats you are experiencing from our unpopular and hopefully temporary government.”

He added: “It is my sincere wish for you to be able to enjoy all of my music in your beautiful Greenland home, in its highest quality. This is an offer of peace and love. All the music I made during the last 62 years is yours to hear.”

In a separate post he shared to his web archive, Young took aim at Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, having vowed last year to remove all traces of his music from the company's store and streaming service.

It appears that Young is still very much dedicated to his pledge, stating “my music will never be available on Amazon, as long as it is owned by Bezos” who he deemed as a “billionaire backer of the president”. That’s just the surface, and Young went in deeper:

“The president’s international policies and his support of ICE [US Immigration and Customs Enforcement] make it impossible for me to ignore his actions. If you feel as I do, I strongly recommend that you do not use Amazon,” he stated.
