RTE star Doireann Garrihy returns to 2FM with her own show

It was confirmed that she will front the radio station’s brand new Drivetime show.
The all-new Breakfast Show will be presented by Carl Mullan, Roz Purcell, and Aisling Bonner, with Laura Fox taking on the mid-morning and Tracy Clifford presenting from noon.
Doireann was part of the 2FM line-up for five years before departing her breakfast show with Carl and rugby star Donncha O'Callaghan in May last year.
Announcing her return, RTE said: “As the day turns to evening, Doireann Garrihy will take the listeners home, offering the hottest tracks, entertainment updates, and feel-good vibes to power the evening commute.”
Doireann took to Instagram to share the news, writing: "SOME NEWS in the form of 2FM DRIVE with Doireann Garrihy. I am so beyond excited to tell you I am BACK.
"Weekdays from 3-6pm on @rte2fm radio is where my heart is, and absence has only made the heart grow fonder. It is an absolute dream come true to have my very own show.
"I CANNOT WAIT to put my own stamp on it, to rise at a reasonable hour and to be back with you, the listeners. Bring it on".
They explained that the new line-up will bring “new and familiar voices” with a revamped, bilingual, weekend schedule.
RTE wrote: “An all-new Breakfast Show presented by Carl Mullan, Roz Purcell, and Aisling Bonner promises to wake up the nation with a new energy, sharp wit, and unbeatable soundtrack. Mid-morning will continue with Laura Fox daily from 9am, while the ever-popular Tracy Clifford will take the baton at 12 noon with the best of Irish music, and the home of 2FM Rising acts. As the day turns to evening, Doireann Garrihy will take the listeners home, offering the hottest tracks, entertainment updates, and feel-good vibes to power the evening commute.”
They are also introducing some fresh talent with four new presenters, including Benny Bracken, Helen Galgey, Mikey O'Reilly and Demi Issac, who will present from their Cork studios.
