Showband legend Paddy Cole has died at the age of 85

The saxophone player and singer has had a incredibly successful career that has spanned over the course of 70 years.
The native of Castleblaney, Co Monaghan, lived in Dublin, and is survived by his wife Helen and their three children, Pearse, Pat and Karen.
The showband legend was diagnosed with incurable lung cancer in 2022 and in a recent update revealed he was receiving hospice care, but "grateful to be alive".
He recently celebrated his 85th birthday in December.
He has played with many bands, including the Capitol Showband, The Big 8, and his own band, Paddy Cole Superstars. He published an autobiography in 2020 detailing his life and impressive career.
