Oasis' full setlist 'revealed' weeks before Croke Park gigs and just days before tour kicks off
by Erica Carter · RSVP LiveCardiff has already had a sneak peek of what's in store when the legendary Gallagher brothers, Oasis, take to the stage for the first time in over a decade this Friday. Those residing near the Principality Arena have already heard whispers about what to anticipate.
The iconic Britpop band is just days away from one of the most monumental reunions in music history as feuding Liam and Noel finally make peace. They've already made history with their sell-out tour, which will commence their global journey later this week.
Oasis have already touched down in Cardiff to add the final touches, and nearby fans claim they've heard the full setlist during rehearsals. Earlier this week, those in proximity to the stadium heard Cigarettes and Alcohol echoing from the venue.
They were also treated to renditions of hits like Some Might Say and F****n' In The Bushes. According to a fan on Reddit, Oasis are set to perform an extensive 24-song setlist.
The user disclosed the rehearsal setlist, providing fans with a hint of what might feature in the live shows. They revealed that the setlist begins with an intro of F****n' in the Bushes then Hello, Acquiesce, Morning Glory followed by Some Might Say, reports the Mirror.
Cigarettes and Alcohol is up next, followed by Fade Away, Supersonic, Roll With It, Bring It On Down. It's rumoured that Noel will perform Talk Tonight, Half the World Away, Little By Little.
The group is rumoured to then launch into an electrifying banger line-up starting with 'D'you Know What I Mean?', followed by hits like 'Stand By Me', 'Cast No Shadow', 'Slide Away', 'Whatever', 'Live Forever', 'Rock 'n' Roll Star'. It's whispered that Noel will take the lead on 'The Masterplan' and 'Don't Look Back in Anger', before the band signs off with the iconic 'Wonderwall' and 'Champagne Supernova'.
The speculated setlist has sparked quite the buzz amongst fans, though a few are gutted that the beloved tune 'Columbia' isn’t included. One fan expressed online: "Crazy there's no Columbia but little by little got my stoked."
Another chimed in: "No Columbia?" And another shared their sentiments: "I need to convince one of them of Columbia's importance."
The Gallagher brothers are set to take on Dublin's Croke Park next month, playing two sold out gigs on the 16th and 17th of August.
Following their reunion a few months back, Oasis has been hard at work refining their act to smash their live performances. Snaps capturing the squad post-rehearsal in London were snapped and hit the press this past May.
The photos featured Noel alongside guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer, and bassist Andy Bell, all of whom will play a part in the highly-anticipated sold-out performances. Initially absent due to vocal rest, Liam eventually joined the group on June 3.
The lineup has been bolstered by the addition of keyboardist Christian Madden and drummer Joey Waronker, the latter having previously toured with Liam but not as part of Oasis.
A source remarked on the upcoming shows: "With a new lineup and it being such a huge first show, the boys will do some songs inside the venue too. Some tours would start with a smaller show or take a week or two to get into the groove again.
"But there is no time for that, and also Liam and Noel want every night to be massive. This is such a huge comeback show, and they are taking it very seriously. It all points to it being an incredible comeback tour."
The reunion of Noel and Liam on Friday marks the first time the duo has appeared in public together since Oasis disbanded nearly 20 years ago. Noel parted ways with the band on August 28, 2009, citing the impossibility of continuing to work alongside Liam, which led to over a decade of public feuding between the siblings.
