Gin school launches in stunning 16th century Devon manor

A gin school is launching in a stunning 16th century manor in Devon. Boringdon Hall, a five-star, 16th-century manor hotel nestled in the heart of the Devon countryside, will be holding the events for three dates in June.

The collaborations with gin partner ‘Still On The Move’ will run throughout June. They are scheduled to celebrate and coincide with World Gin Day (June 14), taking place on Saturday June 7, 14, and 21 from 12noon until 2pm.

Guests will learn about gin production through a hands-on workshop, beginning with a welcome cocktail made from Boringdon Hall Gin. The hotel is in stunning surroundings on the edge of Dartmoor, setting the tone for a creative afternoon.

Participants will be guided through designing, blending, and distilling their own bespoke gin recipe, created on the day through collaboration with fellow participants using a shared 'still'. Under the expert guidance of skilled distillers, guests will gain a deep understanding of how to balance flavours and botanicals, before discovering the distillation techniques that give each batch its unique character.

Using this newfound knowledge, they will have the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of botanicals - such as juniper, angelica root, and citrus peel - to craft a personalised 35cl bottle of gin, perfectly tailored to their individual tastes. Once their creation is complete, guests will bottle their gin and design a bespoke label, adding that final touch of personalisation to their handcrafted masterpiece.

The sessions are £87.50 per person based on two adults. Bookings can be made here https://boringdonhall.co.uk/the-hotel/the-journal/event/make-your-own-gin/
