BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood breaks silence on tour cancellation
by Chloe Dobinson, Kiesha Dosanjh · DevonLiveStrictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has addressed the show's fans regarding the cancellation of the Strictly tour performance in Glasgow amid the impact of Storm Eowyn.
On his Instagram story last night (January 23), he informed followers with a heartfelt message: "Sadly, due to the red weather warning in place tomorrow, the Friday evening performance of Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour will be rescheduled to Sunday evening, 26 January. Doors will open at 17.30 and the performance will start at 18.30.
"Original tickets remain valid for this show. If guests are unable to attend, they should contact their point of purchase for a refund. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
Scotland faced a severe red weather alert between 10am-5pm due to intense gales which carried a warning of endangering lives.
Consequently, all train and bus services in Glasgow were suspended, potentially thwarting attendees' plans to arrive at the OVO Hydro. Furthermore, the venue itself echoed Craig’s words on its own X page, affirming that the performance slated for Friday would indeed move to Sunday evening, 26 January.
"Doors will open at 17.30 and the performance will start at 18.30. Original tickets remain valid for this show. If guests are unable to attend they should contact their point of purchase for a refund. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause", reports the Mirror.
Fans were left feeling let down by the last-minute notice yesterday evening, with one expressing their frustration on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Could have made this decision 5 hours ago."
Nonetheless, some showed understanding towards the precautionary steps taken, with another adding: "Good plan. Tomorrow would not have worked."
Earlier in the week, Wynne Evans divulged some behind-the-scenes tales as he sets off on tour.
While appearing on The One Show to promote his new programme with Joanna Page, he remarked: "It's fun, you know, it's just real fun, it's absolute entertainment. Craig [who is a judge] is as rude as ever. He called me right, yesterday, he said that I was stompy and flat footed."
He continued, chuckling: "So I said: 'Have you heard your album, mate, that's stompy and flat if ever I've heard it! ' So yeah, there's quite a lot of banter and he gave me a two yesterday, so I was absolutely gutted, just because I was a bit rude about his album!"
