BBC bosses issued warning to 'very naughty' Fleur East after keeping major secret

Fleur East has candidly shared that she kept her pregnancy under wraps while working on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, confessing she was called "very naughty" for not disclosing the news. The 37-year-old, who returned to host the show last year, chose to keep her pregnancy a secret as she didn't want to be treated differently.

On Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum Happy Baby Podcast, the former X Factor contestant revealed that after the news broke, she received a telling-off from the show's executives. She recounted: "I didn't tell anyone at Strictly which probably wasn't the best thing.

"My management knew and my family knew but nobody at Strictly knew. After it came out, I remember speaking to the exec Alex and she said to me 'Fleur, that was very naughty of you, we could have looked after you if you told us.

"So, in future, I don't know if there's going to be another baby but please let us know because we like to look after you'." In March, Fleur announced the arrival of her daughter Nova, born on March 22, with heartwarming Instagram posts, reports Lancs Live.

Taking over from Rylan Clark in 2023, Fleur now co-hosts It Takes Two alongside Janette Manrara, in addition to her role on The Hits Radio Breakfast Show. During the podcast, she also mentioned discovering her pregnancy just before securing the hosting gig and how she managed to keep it hidden from the show's bosses.

She shared: "Very big suits. A lot of people started to clock on though, a few people were messaging me going 'your suits are getting really big, you must be pregnant'.

"Family members were texting my sister, bless her, 'Is Fleur pregnant? ' and she didn't want to lie. I just felt very vulnerable and I think because I knew I was going to be on TV for three months while I was pregnant, and my first pregnancy, I didn't really like the idea of having all the attention on me while I was pregnant."

The singer Fleur East has been wedded to fashion stylist and designer Marcel Badiane-Robin since June 2019. Their wedding took place with the scenic Atlas mountains in Morocco as a stunning backdrop.

Notable attendees included Harry Redknapp, the 2018 champion of 'I'm A Celebrity', and his wife Sandra, broadcaster AJ Odudu, along with 'The Only Way Is Essex' star Vas J Morgan.
