Josie Gibson knew relationship with son's father was over after five-word comment

This Morning's Josie Gibson admitted realising her relationship with the father of her son was over after a comment. The popular TV presenter, who turned 40 today, shared the tipping point during a past appearance on White Wine Question Time with Kate Thornton.

Celebrating her first Christmas with baby Reggie and her then-partner Terry James—a man she'd known for 20 years—the festivities were far from joyful. In the revealing interview, Josie recounted the moment that signalled the end of their union, prompting her to leave their shared home.

She shared in 2019: "I spent four days cooking Christmas dinner, getting it all in and preparing it, and spent four days cleaning up and then he went to me: 'You haven't even buffed the sides'."

Frustrated, she replied, "buff your own bloody sides". A subsequent complaint about her shoes being in the hallway was the last straw.

"I said: 'If you don't like it, pack our stuff, we will go' and he packed up all our stuff in black bags and took it to a house I rent out. I didn't think he would actually do it."

The incident was enough for Josie, who also expressed disappointment over her ex choosing to sleep in a "campervan" when Reggie was just five months old, rather than be with his family. She recalled: "We'd come back from the hospital and he didn't even come into the house."

Josie claimed that her partner Terry preferred to sleep in the campervan in their garden to ensure a good night's rest, leaving her to handle all the nighttime feedings for their baby. This was just one of many issues that built up over time.

Josie claimed that she even treated hi to a skiing holiday for Christmas, but received no gift in return, not even a card. This led her to spend New Year's Eve in a hotel with their child.

However, during the lockdown, Terry moved back in with Josie to help care for their youngster. Josie described their unconventional living arrangement to the Loose Women panel, saying: "He's one of those people... You can't live with him, you can't live without it. It's taken a pandemic, and a year and a half...and we've never got on so well! "

But in December 2021, Josie announced that Terry was no longer living with her and their child, Reggie, stating: "He's [Terry] moved out now. I'm choosing to do it on my own for a little bit at the moment."

In a recent interview with the Mirror, Josie mentioned that her son Reggie is her main priority, saying: "Reg is my biggest distraction. My time is split between my career and my son, where would anyone fit in? ".
