The “DIGGER” Trailer Looks Utterly Ridiculous, And People Cannot Wait
by Benjamin Dzialdowski · BuzzFeedThat's right, one of the most secretive films of the year has finally released a trailer, and it looks just as bizarre as we hoped. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, Digger is a satirical black comedy film starring Tom Cruise as Digger Rockwell, a wealthy oil baron with a Southern drawl.
The trailer shows Digger being called upon by the US President (John Goodman) to deal with and save the world from the impending doom caused by a melting iceberg (that he is responsible for).
In true Cruise fashion, he hosted a fan event for the film, celebrating the release of the first trailer, and he welcomed fans while standing on a giant shovel...
i’m crying it doesn’t matter the role he still needs to be standing on top of stuff https://t.co/V4lFMSdAZ3

It's safe to say people are equal parts confused and intrigued by the trailer, which is seemingly the desired response considering the confusing marketing and lack of details surrounding the movie.
Until today, all we'd seen was a 'Tom Cruise Retrospective Trailer', released by Warner Bros. two weeks ago. The video poked fun at Cruise's action 'hero' stereotype, and teased the comedic role to come:
Straight up most confused I’ve been with a trailer… 4 tickets please https://t.co/Vtv0nDD7ND

it would be really funny if this Tom Cruise legacy marketing campaign for Digger didn’t get him an Oscar and he could never pull that card again
