Jeremy Renner Responded To Misconduct Allegations From Filmmaker Yi Zhou

Jeremy Renner is responding to allegations made against him by filmmaker Yi Zhou.

Earlier this week, Yi made (and, seemingly, continues to make) a series of Instagram posts alleging various behavior on Jeremy's part, including him sending “personal and intimate photographs of himself” to her. Yi also claims that, when she confronted him about the alleged behavior, he "threatened to call immigration/ICE" on her. You can read a rundown of the allegations here and here.

“This experience really shows the dark side of Hollywood and the smear campaign to deter women and Asian female filmmakers and women in general,” Zhou wrote in one of the posts. “I’m appalled but happy to read also many support from friends and media that will continue to uncover domestic abuse, abuse of women and the unwanted unsolicited porn attack against innocent young women.”

In response, Jeremy's team has given several statements to separate publications. In a statement to Variety, the actor's rep says that “The allegations being made are totally inaccurate and untrue.”

In a separate statement to People, Jeremy's lawyer Marty Singer referred to Yi's claims as "false, outrageous and highly defamatory" and alleged that the filmmaker's allegations are retaliatory after Jeremy "rejected her romantic advances" and failed to promote her projects on his social media pages.

Marty also claims that Jeremy and Yi had a "brief consensual encounter" after meeting in July of this year, and that the two met up again the following month — but that he also hasn't spoken to her in over a month and has been ignoring her alleged "sexually explicit messages expressing her love."

Specifically addressing Yi's allegation that Jeremy threatened to call ICE on her, Marty says that Yi "had been relentlessly harassing and threatening my client with hundreds of unsolicited and unwanted messages." "The true facts are that Ms. Zhou has relentlessly and aggressively harassed and pursued my client for months with no reciprocation on my client’s part, other than a single brief encounter on July 12, 2025," he went on to allege.

In a statement to People, Yi further alleged that she was “frauded by love,” and that Jeremy allegedly sent her “obscene photos without consent…for days" and “forced himself on me the first day we met."

"I believe the Me too movement is not over and we need to fight more," she added.
