'Chhaava': South Indian Actor And Hindi Actress Were Allegedly The First Choices, Not Vicky-Rashmika

As per reports, before Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, the lead roles of 'Chhaava' were offered to a South Indian actor and a Bollywood actress who has a connection to the current male lead.

Vicky Kaushal's movie, Chhaava has been roaring in the box office. The movie is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Reportedly, this movie has collected Rs. 286.75 crore at the box office so far. Vicky and Rashmika did proper justice to their respective roles, which led the audience to scream at the top of their lungs. Vicky's acting prowess is yet again in the talks, and he proved why he is hailed as one of the most phenomenal actors in the Hindi film industry. 

Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna were reportedly not the first choices for Chhaava

Well, while Chhaava is breaking records, a recent report claimed that Vicky and Rashmika were not the first choices for the lead roles. Recently, a report by The Siasat Daily revealed that the role of 'Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj' was not first offered to Vicky Kaushal but to South Indian superstar, Mahesh Babu. Reportedly, he showed a bit of little interest in the movie, after which Vicky got the role, which he had taken and proved his mettle with his masterclass performance.

On the other hand, as per reports, Rashmika's role in the movie, Chhaava, 'Yesubai Bhonsale' was first offered to a Bollywood actress, who has a deep connection to Vicky Kaushal. Yes! You guessed it right! Reportedly, Katrina Kaif was the first choice for the role of 'Yesubai Bhonsale' in Chhaava. Reportedly, she declined the role for unknown reasons. Thus, the offer went to Rashmika's hands. Well, Vicky and Rashmika's portrayals in the movie had received a whole lot of praise.

Rashmika Mandanna and Vicky Kaushal's fees for Chhaava

Rashmika Mandanna and Vicky Kaushal surely have been basking in the glory of their recently released film, which grabbed a whole lot of positive attention. If the reports are to be followed, the movie, which was made in a historical set-up, had a budget of Rs. 130-140 crore. Talking about the fees of the leads in the movie, Vicky was reportedly paid an amount of Rs. 10 crore, while Rashmika's salary was allegedly Rs. 4 crore. The lead antagonist, Akshaye Khanna, who played the role of 'Aurangzeb', was reportedly paid Rs. 2.5 crore for his role.

Divya Dutta slammed the criticism over Rashmika Mandnna's performance

While the movie has a positive response and the results are shown in the Box Office collection, there have been several criticisms around Rashmika Mandanna's role in the movie. Well, Rashmika's co-star from the movie, Divya Dutta, who played the role of 'Rajmata' recently gave a solid reply to this. Talking to India Today, Divya said that people should not forget that Rashmika had delivered some of the major hits, and she surely has something in her that keeps people glued to their seats. She said that Rashmika is hardworking and sweet, thus people can have their opinion, but what matters is that the movie is doing extremely well at the Box office. Divya said:

"If you look at her kohl-rimmed eyes in certain scenes, they are simply mesmerising. Let’s not forget that she has delivered several hits, which clearly means she has something that resonates with the audience. From what I know, she is a hardworking and genuinely sweet person.
