Just like Sass Jordan, her husband, Derek Sharp, also belongs to the music industry. He is best known as the lead singer of the band The Guess Who. Jordan and Sharp first crossed paths in 1995 when the latter was playing guitar in the late singer's band. During a 2012 interview, Jordan revealed that she and Sharp got married and had a baby soon after. In her words:
“We got married and had a baby right away. Both of us, being musicians, means we are always traveling at a moment’s notice. My daughter is used to it, and Derek and I spend enough quality time together. We write songs and throw ideas back and forth.”
With both of them being musicians, Jordan and her husband extended their creative partnership into the studio. For instance, Sharp produced Jordan’s album From Dusk ‘Til Dawn, which was released in 2009. He also co-wrote and played several instruments on the record. More recently, in 2020, Sharp contributed to Sass Jordan’s blues album Rebel Moon Blues, where he co-wrote the track The Key with his wife in just an hour.
The pair made sure that their household was one where creativity flowed freely. Jordan previously admitted that her and Sharp’s married life was built on a shared understanding of the musician’s life, which is defined by frequent travels, unpredictability, and sudden moments of inspiration. She said:
“Both of us, being musicians, means we are always traveling at a moment's notice. Derek and I spend enough quality time together. We wrote songs and throw ideas back and forth.”
During their marriage, Sass Jordan and Derek Sharp welcomed one daughter together named Stella Jordan-Sharp. With Sharp and Jordan being busy with their careers, Stella soon became accustomed to her parents’ unconventional schedules.
According to Sass Jordan, the reason she never brought Stella along when she was on tour was that it was “an expensive option.” Instead, she relied on her husband or their family members when she was on the road. In 2012, Jordan gushed about Stella and said, “I am so blessed to have such a beautiful, well-rounded kid.”
While Stella is the only child of Sass Jordan and Derek Sharp, it is worth mentioning that she also has a stepsister. Derek welcomed Brianne Sharp from a previous relationship.

For the unversed, the news of the Canadian rocker’s death comes just weeks after she decided to step away from the remainder of her 2026 performances due to health issues. While her representatives said in September 2026 that Sass Jordan would be focusing on her recovery, they did not reveal more details about her medical conditions.
Soon after the news of Sass Jordan's death broke, her family shared an emotional statement on social media. They posted a picture of Jordan happily smiling while holding her cat. Alongside it, they wrote:
