The Wicked: For Good Trailer Does Sound Wonderful
by Jason P. Frank · VULTURELet us rejoicify! At CinemaCon on April 2, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo stopped by to debut the Wicked: For Good trailer and play their versions of “No Good Deed” and “For Good” for movie-theater owners across the country, per Variety. And good for them! We are so happy for the movie-theater owners! We are definitely not currently screaming into a pillow with jealous rage! “This movie takes us past the point where the girl in the blue gingham dress from Kansas drops in,” Chu said at the presentation, according to Variety. Deadline reports that the trailer includes shots of Glinda and Fiyero’s wedding and Elphaba sky-writing “OUR WIZARD LIES” on her broom. As Leslie Knope once said, “Sky-writing isn’t always positive.” Additionally, Glinda, while on a balcony, says, “Elphaba, I know you’re out there,” and Elphaba claims, “This is about the Wizard and I.” And in reference to the original movie (meaning The Wizard of Oz), Jeff Goldblum says, “Bring me the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West!!” There is no word on when the trailer will be released to the public, but last year’s came out on May 15, so hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.
