Anne Hathaway Takes a Bite of Dakota Johnson

We’re entering the scary Colleen Hoover cinematic universe. Yes, scarier than the strange dialogue in Reminders of Him. The first teaser for Verity just dropped, and it’s the official transition from Hoover’s heartbreaking romances to Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett making out in a haunting room, at least until Hartnett warps into Anne Hathaway. Directed by Michael Showalter and screenplay by Nick Antosca, the film features Johnson as Lowen Ashleigh, an author hired by Jeremy Crawford (Hartnett) to complete the best-selling book series written by his wife, Verity (Hathaway), who was left in a coma after a car crash that followed the deaths of her two daughters. But as Ashleigh continues working on the book, secrets from Verity’s past surface, making it harder to distinguish fact from fiction.

Verity comes to theaters on October 2.
