Miley Cyrus’s New Movie Was Kind of Harrison Ford’s Idea

In the words of Murray Hill, “Showbiz!” Miley Cyrus owes her new visual album, Something Beautiful, to Harrison Ford. At least in part. In her Zane Lowe interview, Cyrus says Indiana Jones talked her out of doing a globe-trekking tour. The original plan for Something Beautiful was to go on tour for the first time since 2014’s Bangerz Tour. She wanted to hold shows completely immersed in nature, “performing in all the forests and at the pyramids and all these things.” But Ford put the kibosh on that.

At 2024’s Disney Legends induction ceremony at D23, Ford and Cyrus got to chatting about upcoming projects. The two are pals, apparently?

Another reason Cyrus isn’t going on tour any time soon: protecting her health and her sobriety. “Working from the inside out, I have certain protocols that keep me [sober]. That’s super important to me,” she said. “So part of that is keeping myself mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally well, and I want to emphasize the ‘physically’ because of how taxing a physical live performance is.”
