Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Star Jessi Draper’s Husband Has Filed for Divorce
by Tom Smyth · VULTUREAs if there weren’t enough drama happening in Utah, yet another Mormon Wife has found herself in the headlines. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Draper’s husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, filed for divorce on Thursday, March 19, after five years of marriage.
“This has not been an easy decision and it comes with a heavy heart. I’m grateful for the shared memories and the lessons. While our paths are now moving in different directions, my priority remains my children and ensuring they feel loved, supported, and protected through this transition,” Ngatikaura said in a statement to TMZ. “I am committed to handling this next chapter with kindness and respect. I kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this as a family.”
Given the timing, he might actually be serious about wanting that privacy. Cameras are currently down on the fifth season of Secret Lives due to the ongoing domestic-violence investigation surrounding on-again, off-again couple Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen, so it’s unclear how much of this split and its aftermath viewers will see play out on the show. Plus, with attention firmly on the Paul-Mortensen investigation and the resulting cancellation of Paul’s Bachelorette season, it’s a great time to try and bury a divorce announcement.
The timing also comes just weeks after the release of the show’s fourth season, in which Draper (the relationship’s breadwinner) shared concerns that her prenup could be invalid because there weren’t witnesses present for its signing, meaning Ngatikaura could potentially swoop in and take half of her net worth. That uncertainty was a consideration as Draper struggled to decide whether or not to end her marriage, which viewers have seen tumultuously play out on the Hulu reality show. The third season saw Draper come clean about her emotional affair with Vanderpump Villa’s Marciano Brunette as well as the emotional abuse she faced from Ngatikaura, after which they agreed to a 90-day separation in 2025. The latest season chronicled their (apparently failed) attempt to rebuild the relationship after that separation.
The couple were married in October 2020 and share a 5-year-old son, Jagger, and 3-year-old daughter Jovi, as well as Ngatikaura’s 13-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Peyton.
While Ngatikaura was rushing to the courthouse, Draper was busy fanning the flames of rumors that she could be competing on the newest season of Dancing With the Stars, posting a video of her training with one of the show’s pros, Sasha Farber, to her Instagram Story. A Secret Lives of Mormon Lives star on an ABC reality show? What could go wrong?!
