Jennifer Lawrence Said Returning to Hunger Games Was ‘So Emotional’

by · VULTURE

The Mockingjay has spoken. On a new episode of Call Her Daddy, Jennifer Lawrence spoke for the first time about reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen alongside Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. We’ve known since December that Peeniss would be making a comeback, but this is seemingly the first confirmation that Harrelson will also return as Haymitch in the franchise’s latest. Lawrence said revisiting Katniss after 11 years was “unbelievable” and “so emotional.”

“It was the same crew. It was the same camera guys, the same AD who I’ve worked with a million times too because I love him, and Josh and Woody. And, like, it was so emotional,” Lawrence said. “Josh and I, like, didn’t walk to the bathroom without our arms around each other. Like, it was so beautiful. And Woody obviously came through the window of my hotel room uninvited ’cause it wouldn’t be the same if he listened to boundaries and used a door.”

Advance tickets to the prequel movie’s opening weekend dropped on AMC, Cinemark, and Fandango at 9 a.m. today, but within minutes, the sites and their apps were crashing and showing error messages that cited heavy demand. Now, AMC has implemented a queue to get onto the app. If anyone wasn’t ready to fight like they’re in the arena to secure their tickets, they should get prepared. With a confirmed OG cast reunion on the horizon, come November 20, fans may arrive at movie theaters like they’re ready to storm the Capitol. So, AMC, may the odds be ever in your favor.
