‘Ketamine Queen’ Becomes Final Person to Plead Guilty in Matthew Perry’s Death

A fifth and final person has pleaded guilty in relation to Matthew Perry’s death. Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” pleaded guilty on August 18 to five federal criminal charges, according to AP News. Sangha’s lawyer Mark Geragos told the outlet, “She’s taking responsibility for her actions.” The five federal charges include one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of distribution of ketamine, and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury. Prosecutors have dropped her other charges. She will formally enter a guilty plea in the coming weeks and a sentencing hearing will come months later, according to the Justice Department. Sangha could face up to 45 years in federal prison.

According to Sangha’s plea deal, the Justice Department reports that she claims she and Erik Fleming sold Perry 51 vials of ketamine and gave them to Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who then injected “at least three shots” of ketamine into Perry, resulting in his death. After his death, Sangha told Fleming via Signal to “Delete all our messages.”

Earlier this summer, Perry’s doctor, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, pleaded guilty to four criminal counts of distributing ketamine. Both Plasencia and Sangha initially pleaded not guilty before changing their minds. Others who pleaded guilty include Iwamasa, Fleming, and Dr. Mark Chavez (who sold Plasencia ketamine for Perry).
