Dr. Michelle Yeoh Transforms Into The Surgeon

The doctor is in, and unfortunately, she’s not gonna help you, since you’re the one who kidnapped her. Michelle Yeoh stars in the upcoming film The Surgeon, which is heading to Cannes Film Market, per Deadline. Yeoh plays a retired surgeon who gets abducted to perform a surgery on an unknown patient. However, her kidnappers underestimate her decades-long skills with surgical tools as she kicks their asses in order to escape. It’s written and directed by The Resident’s co-creator Roshan Sethi, who was a radiation oncologist before transitioning to writing. “I’m so excited to bring something brand-new and innovative to the action genre based heavily on my medical background,” Sethi said. “I cannot think of a better partner than Michelle, the iconic queen of action who will be using her skills in a different and surprising way in this film, and the producing teams at Thunder Road, 193 and NeoText.” The film is reportedly being set up to become a franchise, because if you study to become a doctor for so many years, you can’t just stop with one movie, can you?
