ITV I'm A Celebrity fans say same thing about Maura Higgins as new arrivals revealed

by · Irish Mirror

There were two new faces on I'm A Celebrity on Wednesday night, and fans had plenty to say.

Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles were both finally confirmed by the show to be heading into camp, after The Mirror exclusively spoke to both new jungle stars. We finally know when the pair will enter camp and it is very soon.

It was revealed by hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly at the end of the episode that Maura and Richard were on their way, in scenes to air on Thursday night. At the end of the episode, we saw them both introduce themselves before Ant and Dec teased what was ahead.

The hosts confirmed the pair would arrive and be in a separate camp, where they would have to take on a secret mission. Viewers were quick to react to the news, and there was quite a consensus regarding the new arrivals.

Viewers were convinced Maura was set to cause camp drama, and that should would stir things up as promised. Taking to X, one fan said: "I am SO f***ing excited for Maura!!!"

Another agreed: "Maura going in haha. She speaks her mind the group camp chats might get messy and everyone won't easily be getting along soo much anymore." A third added: "For anyone who doesn’t know who Maura Higgins is, she ate this man up, she’ll take no s**t."

It comes after Maura discussed her looming jungle stint in a chat with The Mirror this week. She revealed that her mum was left flabbergasted when she told her she’d signed up for the Jungle.

“She nearly died. She went: 'Maura, how are you going to do that?’ She is baffled as I'm more of an indoor girl…I like my hotels. I've never slept outside,” she said. She refused to camp even at festivals. “I'm always like, 'no, get me back to a hotel,’.”

Trials, too, sound like they could be somewhat of a struggle. “If spiders go over the top of my head, I might just die,” she says. “I'm not a nervous person at all. I don't get anxiety. But for this show, when I think about it, I'm like, 'Oh God'.”

When Maura burst onto our screens in 2019, it’s fair to say she ruffled her fair share of feathers in the Love Island villa. So what can we expect when she enters the camp alongside Rev Richard Coles as one of the late arrivals.

“It's been five years and I think I've matured, but I still have a potty mouth,” she explained. “I'm still the same kind of girl but I'm not going to go in and annihilate anyone. However, if someone gets on my nerves, I'm not really one to hold it in. I do speak my mind. If someone patronised me, I get really irritated. Like, that's one thing that really drives me mad.”

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! airs every night at 9PM on ITV1 and ITV X.
