Netflix unveils star-studded cast for Celebrity Bear Hunt with Bear Grylls as host issues 'terrifying' warning
by Mark Jefferies · Irish MirrorCelebrity Bear Hunt's full cast has been unveiled, and host Holly Willoughby quipped: "I don't think they knew what they were signing up for."
The show has released its first look images and a gripping trailer that sees celebs gasping for air at sea, enduring kidnappings by Bear himself, and facing challenges so intense that Spice Girl Mel B calls them "terrifying".
The series is shaping up to be a mash-up of I'm A Celebrity with a dash of Channel 4's The Island with Bear Grylls.
Holly elaborated: "The ultimate survival challenge, twelve celebrities are in the Costa Rican jungle going head-to-head with the legendary Bear Grylls."
The line-up includes former sports stars Danny Cipriani and Boris Becker, alongside Spice Girl Mel B and presenter Steph McGovern, reports the Mirror.
Boris Becker boldly stated: "I survived prison. I wanna compare that to the wild. It's about overcoming and not falling down."
Strictly's head judge Shirley Ballas will be seen attempting to navigate the Costa Rican wilderness, while Lottie Moss, Kate Moss's half-sister, swaps the catwalk for keeping an eye out for wildcats.
First glimpses reveal Mel B cautiously trekking through a river and Boris Becker sporting a headband ready for action. While all celebs are kitted out in combat gear, one star still manages to look as though she's on a luxurious holiday.
Holly Willoughby is a picture of calm in her flowery attire, fronting the adrenaline-fuelled competition that thrusts a host of offbeat celebs into the depths of the Central American wilderness to become stuntpersons for Bear Grylls.
Per Netflix, Bear reckons everyone's got an action star waiting in the wings famous faces included - and now viewers can witness how they fare under his rigorous, survivalist tutelage.
The adventurer quips: "I have done many wild things in my life but I have never hunted celebrities. The celebrities won't come out of this the same."
Lagging celebrities may well dread the Bear Hunt, where being outpaced by Bear spells their doom in a high-stakes game of hide and seek; those who falter risk getting booted off the programme.
