Danny Jones' biggest fear revealed amid fallout from Maura Higgins kiss
by Darragh MurphyDeputy Editor, Zara WoodcockShowbiz Reporter, Shelley Spadoni · Irish MirrorDanny Jones is worried he could 'lose his career' as a direct result of his much-discussed kiss with Love Island icon Maura Higgins last week.
Former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! campmates Danny and Maura made headlines over the past week after the pair were spotted locking lips at a Brits afterparty.
Danny, 39, was captured sharing a smooch with Co Longford beauty Maura on March 1 and while neither has publicly addressed the backlash that followed the kiss, it hasn't stopped the deluge of social media opinion on the matter.
McFly singer Danny is married to Georgia Horsley, who broke her social media silence by posting a picture of seven-year-old son Cooper, who she shares with Danny. The couple were pictured together for the first time since the kiss while out for a stroll in Richmond, south-west London this week.
The Mirror reports that Danny, who attended last week's Brits Awards with McFly bandmate and close friend Tom Fletcher, has expressed fears that his decades-long career may be coming to an end.
A source told the publication: "Earlier today, Georgia broke her silence by posting a picture of Cooper, their son. But I don’t think we can get too excited. We need to remember that in the past 2 weeks, 2 videos have emerged online of Danny and Maura spending the night of the BRITs together.
"Georgia is likely trying to resume some normality because she has other engagements that she has to fulfil. Danny has been too silent and I believe this is because he’s expecting it to pass and he can resume his career like normal. Danny has been more concerned to family and friends that his career is coming to an end, when he should be caring about his marriage to his wife and his son.
"It’s time for Danny to explain to his fans and audience what has happened and to own his mistakes."
Georgia's social media post yesterday featuring son Cooper sparked a flurry of comments from supportive followers, with one writing: "Love you. what a lucky boy he is to have a mummy like you xxxxxx." While another added: "Hope you're okay Georgia, you've got this." Someone else added: "YES GIRL!!! Lovely to see Coops a post from you. You’ve got this."
While another commented: "So nice to see you back posting. We're all behind you and love you so much."
Maura, meanwhile, is said to be 'in a bad way' and 'really struggling' as she deals with the backlash following the kiss. The Irish reality TV star is currently in Los Angeles taking part in a photoshoot.
