Cork receive more All Star camogie nominations than All-Ireland champions Galway
by Karl O'Kane · Irish MirrorGalway duo Aoife Donohue and Dervla Higgins and Cork’s Saoirse McCarthy will battle it out for the PwC GPA Senior Camogie Players’ Player of the Year award.
The nominations were unveiled today with Kerry’s Patrice Diggin and Offaly pair Orlagh Phelan and Grace Teehan on the shortlist for the Intermediate Player of the Year.
And the trio in the running for the junior award are all from Laois: Aimee Collier, Gráinne Delaney and Clodagh Tynan.
The full list of All Star nominees were also unveiled with six counties represented and the winners set to be announced at a gala awards night in Croke Park on Saturday, November 15.
O’Duffy Cup winners Galway have 10 players on the list, with finalists Cork represented by 11 nominees.
Semi-finalists Waterford and Tipperary have six and five players respectively. Kilkenny have three players included, while Clare have received one nomination, Clare Hehir.
Speaking at the announcement of the nominations, Camogie Association Chairperson Brian Molloy said: “I want to congratulate all the players who have been nominated for the 2025 PwC Camogie All-Stars Awards.
“This shortlist reflects the exceptional skill, commitment and passion we witnessed throughout what was a thrilling season.”
GPA CEO Tom Parsons said: “To be recognised by your peers for your outstanding performances is really something very special and that is why the PwC GPA Players’ Player of the Year award is held in such high esteem.
“The winner will be voted for by your fellow players. To each of the nominees across the three tiers, you should take great pride that you have been selected as being among the best of the best in 2025.
“And to all of the players who have been nominated, congratulations.”
