Netflix Bear Hunt 'chaos' with Holly Willoughby at centre as top star 'threatens to walk'

Holly Willoughby's latest Netflix venture, Celebrity Bear Hunt, might be facing a rocky start as whispers of discontent emerge from the set.

Allegations have surfaced that one of the stars is considering walking away due to what they perceive as "special treatment" being afforded to the TV host.

The Bear Grylls-led show hasn't even hit screens yet, but reports are rife about potential off-camera drama, with suggestions that some cast members are less than pleased with the preferential treatment reportedly given to Holly.

The full cast has now been confirmed, but it seems not everyone is content. Reports claim that there's a sense of dissatisfaction stemming from the belief that production decisions are overly centred on Holly's requirements.

Ex-England rugby player Danny Cipriani, who once dated Kelly Brook, is said to be at the heart of the tension, as per recent revelations in The Sun.

An insider disclosed to the tabloid that the rugby ace, who has recently embraced a new spiritual path, is advocating for equality and fairness, values he feels are not being reflected on the show's set, reports the Mirror.

The source explained: "Danny seemed to think host Holly was getting special treatment and every decision was being made around her comfort. That's to be expected for a host - after all, they have to film when she's available and she's the star of the show - but it really didn't sit right with Danny he's been pretty open about his spiritual journey as of late and he's all about things being fair and equal."

They also added: "Danny was adamant he was going to leave and even packed his bags, giving producers no option but to step in. They persuaded him to stay but it really ruined the rest of his time on the show.

"He made a couple of new friendships but it's safe to say Danny has ruled out reality TV for good he was relieved when it was over and couldn't wait to get back to LA."

Netflix has been contacted for a statement regarding the incident.

The buzz is real for the upcoming Netflix reality competition set to premiere on February 5, 2025. The series will see Bear Grylls tracking down celebrities as they tackle the wilds of Costa Rica's jungle.

Previously, production faced security concerns due to the potentially perilous Central American setting, but these issues have since been resolved, allowing filming to proceed.

The cast was recently announced, featuring Danny alongside Strictly's head judge Shirley Ballas, actor Kola Bikinni, tennis legend Boris Becker, Spice Girl Mel B, and The Saturdays' Una Healy, all ready to challenge Bear Grylls.

Other celebs joining the adventure include grime artist Big Zuu, model Lottie Moss, Leomie Anderson, and Changing Rooms host Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

Celebrity Bear Hunt will be available to stream on Netflix from February 5.
