After landing on Netflix this month, hit series The Perfect Couple has sparked a divide in viewer opinion. The series has been dubbed by many as one of Netflix's most addictive shows to date - but not everybody agrees.

Plenty of fans have labelled the murder-mystery an 'easy watch,' with some even dubbing it 'trash TV at its finest'. The Perfect Couple nestles comfortably among other no-fuss Netflix hits such as Emily in Paris and The White Lotus.

Starring big names like Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, and including two stellar Irish talents, Eve Hewson and Jack Reynor, the show is adapted from Elin Hilderbrand's bestselling book. Set amidst the plush backdrop of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, it centres on a filthy rich family thrown into chaos as they gear up for a wedding celebration that's marred by catastrophe.

Renowned review sites are giving their initial takes, with Rotten Tomatoes clocking the six-part drama at 69%, while viewers seem to hold the series in higher regard, the Irish Star reports.

Elizabeth D said: "Watched it all in one sitting! So good!" Beth F wrote: "I loved the book, so I was super excited to watch the series! It definitely did not disappoint! I binged the show in one sitting! Very entertaining!""".

Jeremy Z provided a tip for those who've finished and yearned for more, saying: "If like me you love Nicole Kidman in short bingeable mini-series like season 1 of Big Little Lies or Nine Perfect Strangers, then I would definitely recommend this."

Of course, the show didn't wow everyone. Julianna T expressed her discontent by posting: "This series was horrible. Not at all what it was hyped up to be. If you have 5 hours to spare maybe stare at a wall instead."
