Ramayana Box Office Collection Day 3 LIVE Updates: Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-starrer Ramayana Part 1 eyes Rs 400 crore mark.

Ramayana Box Office Collection Day 3 LIVE Updates: Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ramayana Part 1 has witnessed a significant jump at the domestic box office, with the film recording an improvement in collections and occupancy over the Diwali weekend. After earning Rs 48.05 crore in India on day 2, the film witnessed further growth on Saturday, collecting Rs 69.80 crore across 23,696 shows, with the festive period contributing to its strong box office performance.

Ramayana recorded an overall occupancy of 41.3% in India. It has successfully crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in domestic collections, while its worldwide earnings have surpassed the Rs 375 crore mark. A major chunk of the film’s domestic earnings has come from its Hindi version, followed by the Kannada release, riding on the star power of Ranbir Kapoor and KGF-fame Yash.

However, Ramayana Part 1 still has a long way to go before recovering its massive reported budget. DNEG’s Namit Malhotra, whose company is behind the film’s visual effects, is also producing the two-part epic and has reportedly invested Rs 4,000 crore in the project. While the first instalment has finally arrived in theatres, the second part, which was originally scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release, is now reportedly being pushed to 2028.

According to trade experts, the film’s collections are expected to improve further over the Diwali weekend. However, its real box office test will begin on Monday, when the festive boost subsides and audience interest will be tested against regular weekday trends.

'Only downside for me was Ranbir’s acting'

A post by Reddit user Odd_Wave_8461 read, "I hated Ranbir’s acting, it felt like he was trying too hard and ruined it. And why was he pouting so much? Yash was very very good with his performance, I’d say he carried the movie. Sai Pallavi was decent, not her best performance but not bad either. Special effects and the story telling was really good. The vfx and cgi was certainly Hollywood level. Hans Zimmer’s bgm was perfect as well. Only downside for me was Ranbir’s acting and I thought the first half was a bit too dragged out, could’ve been shorter. I’d give it a solid 6.5/10."

'Yash as Ravanan is amazing'

User miles_aint_classic posted on Reddit, "Amazing movie. It's such a familiar story for us, so it's bound to be difficult to keep us engaged. But the movie easily keeps us engaged. The VFX is superb. The Rakshasans could've been better, but other than that it's perfect. The emotional arc is great. We can actually feel Dashrathan's pain. The editing manages to keep the movie feel smooth despite having to showcase a huge story under a movie length. Casting seems great. Yash as Ravanan is amazing. The music elevates everything. Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman really cooked. Overall, it keeps us wanting for more. I'm gonna watch again."

'I was actually left awestruck by the CGI'

User VibeHumble's note on Reddit read, "Fantastic film. I had made up my mind of not watching it based on some “international” reviews. But family wanted to watch it. And man oh man, I was actually left awestruck by the CGI and the way many of the action scenes are blended with the BGM. The BGM has actually elevated the film. And I agree the songs might not have an appeal when listened outside of the film, but within the narrative the songs were so perfect. And two particular scenes are absolutely 10/10, the Ravan Jatayu fight scene and then 14,000 Asurs attacking the trio in the jungle and the wielding of gandharvastra. These two scenes shocked me about how much amazing effort has been put in to the film. 9/10 from me."

'The Sanskrit poetry is so beautifully done'

User FormerMeasurement175 took to Reddit and wrote, "Absolutely amazing movie! The VFX was too good! And ranbir proved everyone, EVERYONE wrong with his casting. Sai Pallav's reaction at Jatayu scene should have been better. But the best part was the dialogues. The Sanskrit poetry is so beautifully done. Especially after Adipurush debacle, this was very pleasant to hear."

'This much creative liberty is just not okay'

User Aware_Friendship6601 posted on Reddit, "I was so excited for the movie and had really high hopes, but the more the runtime passed, the more frustrated I became. Yes, it was visually very beautiful, like one of the best Indian cinema has ever produced, but they changed so much that it became hard to watch. I know everyone has their own version of the Ramayana they grew up with, but this much creative liberty is just not okay. I won't even mention the abduction or anything about Ravana because everyone is already talking about it, but there is so much else that just felt rushed, and they did not do justice to anything. They spent so much time with Ravana, but important moments were completely rushed. The whole Vanvas period was passed over; one day the Bharata Milap happened, and the next day they were in Panchavati and Surpanakha had arrived. Also, the whole scene with Sita calling out to Lakshmana regarding Surpanakha just felt wrong. There are so many things like that. Honestly, I was so hopeful about this, but it disappointed me with its narrative choices. I am still hopeful for part two; they can course-correct the narrative choices easily, and I just hope they listen to people's thoughts on that, as they have done so far with the CGI and other aspects."

'Sita's fight scenes were so different and refreshing'

User CarProgrammatically4 said via Reddit, "I loved it . Im so happy that bollywood has finally tried something and more or less nailed it. One thing I am not reading in any reviews is the fight scenes by sita. So different and refreshing. But the central theme of the movie was ram kept questioning about his bhagya. He kept following his kartavya and lost so much. He lost his kingdom , betrayed by his step mother , lost his father and then finally he lost his wife as well. That is when he lost it. Enough is enough. He decided that he will now write his own fortune. That scene was just epic. Ranbir was so good in that scene. I can't wait for part 2!"

'The hate Sai Pallavi is getting is so unnecessary'

User chaosKing4u posted on Reddit, "Just got back from the theatre. Honestly, I am usually not the biggest fan of Indian cinema, but this movie really has what it takes to represent India on a global scale with its VFX and visuals. The casting was top-notch too. The hate Sai Pallavi is getting is so unnecessary, she feels like the perfect choice for Sita. Ravi Dubey was great as Lakshman, and Ranbir absolutely killed it as always."

'Film has no emotional weight'

User ResponsibleWave9732 shared on Reddit, "Film has no emotional weight. VFX only good in parts. Bad music as it doesn't connect too the philosophical core of Ramayan. Flat characters. Bad acting and painfully paced. Only the climax works to some extent. Distribution reach and high budgets doesnt guarantee a film's success. Poor Cinema."

'Sai Pallavi wasn't the perfect choice for Sita Mata'

User Normal_Actuary8805 took to Reddit and wrote, "Sai Pallavi wasn't the perfect choice for Sita Mata, but somehow it didn't feel odd. To be honest, in some portions of the movie, she was fabulous, but in other scenes, it hit a nerve. Anyway, the whole movie felt a bit draggy, and at the end, everything suddenly started running at super speed. Also, Indrajit's look was so goofy. I mean, it just looked like it wasn't ready to be shown yet, but they released it anyway. It's sad that they didn't showcase Hanuman Ji. I even felt there was no need for Indrajit; his face makeup did not look good. Overall, I watched the whole movie for the visuals, and they were great. I wish they had shown the interaction between Ravana and Lord Shiva, explaining how he got his ten heads. Instead, they focused on other unnecessary things. The songs were mostly just okay. I swear, if I got goosebumps at any point, it was because of the visuals, VFX, and performances—the music was definitely not the reason. The only two songs I actually loved were 'Dharti Hai Ambar Hai' and 'Mangal Rang.' Despite all my critiques, I am genuinely proud of it. Ultimately, the movie felt personal and close to me because it is going to set the bar incredibly high for every Indian movie. I am sure they will improve in Part 2. I can't wait to watch it!"

'Ramayana is a big step towards good technical movies in Bollywood'

User Defiant_Muffin6587 shared a long note on X which read, "Ramayana honest reviewReviewr/IndianCinema - Ramayana honest reviewive been excited about this since the announcement of this movie. im all in for good cinema especially when it comes to the improvement in bollywood and this movie didnt disappoint. the VFX was genuinely good 98% of the time except for a few scenes & backgrounds, the scale was spectacular. i was born & raised in a catholic household so this was my first ever introduction to Ramayana. i have never in my life read or watched any media about ramayana or hindu history. i went in purely for the VFX & all the other hyped stuff about this movie but i left the theatre speechless. my only gripe & advice would be that please go watch this movie in the biggest screen possible and preferably in a good theatre where there arent people talking dogshit throughout the movie. there was a group of hindus in the row behind me who kept spoiling every single scene everytime there was a new character introduced or something major was about to happen.this group was so damn annoying they kept yappin & making fun even during the emotional scenes like lord ram’s exile & jatayu’s last rites. these scenes genuinely moved me for someone who had no prior knowledge of such epics but my emotions had to be ruined by the constant yapping from the group sitting behind me. the movie is a big step towards good technical movies in bollywood, people please show up to the theaters and dont let this flop."
