‘Some become stars, some become legends, a rare few become an emotion’

A fan has penned an emotional tribute to Rajinikanth, reflecting on how the superstar’s popularity has endured despite competition. @amystweeties wrote on X, "Every actor worth his salt has competed with him. Some matched his success. Some commanded greater pay cheques. Some enjoyed bigger openings. For brief moments, many seemed to have caught up with him, perhaps even overtaken him. But his journey was never just about cinema. Political parties, big and small, either wanted him on their side or stood vehemently against him. Some questioned his intentions. Some mocked his choices. Some ran campaigns against him. Others simply waited for his fall. And this went on for decades. Imagine the weight of that existence. To be celebrated endlessly, yet scrutinised relentlessly. To have every word interpreted, every silence questioned, every setback magnified. Not every film succeeded. Not every decision was applauded. Not every battle was won. And yet, something extraordinary endured. The love of ordinary people who never needed him to be perfect to call him their own. Generations grew up watching him, grew old admiring him, and passed that affection on to their children. His rivals changed. Governments changed. Political equations changed. Cinema itself changed. But the love remained. Records can be broken. Wealth can be surpassed. Fame can fade. But to remain in millions of hearts through triumphs, disappointments, criticism and the relentless passage of time is a different kind of greatness. "

Jailer 2 fan review: Rajinikanth-starrer 'a blockbuster in terms of sheer cinematic spectacle'

X user @TheDanceDirectr's post read, 'Where do I even start? Let’s start with the comedy and humour. The situations land, the one-liners work, and Yogi Babu makes you laugh just with his screen presence. (I’m still smiling just mentioning him!) @rajinikanth Sir, Sir, Sir, Sir… HOW, SIR? HOW? @Nelsondilpkumar, I’ve been following your craft since Doctor. You’ve evolved tremendously while staying true to your signature style. The scale, the ratios, the angles, the frames, the elevations, the moments… you’ve excelled in every department. I know how much you care about making frames look wide, grand, and larger than life. The compositions speak for themselves! And the star cast deserves a special mention. When an actor works tirelessly for over 40 years, you get a star cast like this, where fellow actors come together out of love and respect for the man and his craft. This film proves that time and again. Hrithik Roshan here looked like the director had collaborated with a Western actor! The reveal was so cleverly done that, for a good minute, you’re literally guessing who the actor could be, right until the car-side-door shot. A great story, a terrific interval block, and an excellent climax, with a few low moments that are easy to overlook. Indian cinema, please never stop making films like these! Mass entertainers are one genre where we continue to set the bar for the rest of the world. Jailer 2 is a blockbuster in terms of sheer cinematic spectacle and entertainment! And the cherry on top? Nearly 50% occupancy for a show on Day 10 in an international market!"
