Yoruba actress Allwell Ademola is dead

Allwell Ademola, the Nigerian actress famous in the Yoruba film industry, is dead.

Mide Martins, her colleague, confirmed the demise of Ademola in a tribute post via Facebook on Saturday.

“Black Saturday. This is not fair. May God forgive your shortcomings Allwell,” she wrote.

In another story post, Martins said the death was heartbreaking, remembering Ademola as a joyful, lively, and playful person.

“Kabiesi eledumare. Our ever playful, joyful, cheerful, lively Allwell is gone. God this is too heartbreaking,” she added.

Ademola is reported to have died after suffering a heart attack at her residence.

She was said to have been rushed to the hospital before she died.

Following the news of her death, several colleagues in the Yoruba film industry took to social media to mourn her and pay their last respects.

Actress Bidemi Kosoko expressed shock over the loss via Instagram, saying: “No way. It isn’t possible This isn’t true. God forbid in Jesus’ name. I refuse to accept this one, God forbid. Just reply to my message, please my aunty. I will wait patiently for your reply.”

In her tribute, Fathia Williams, who described the news as deeply painful, wrote: “This hit me so bad. Eniobanke. Allahu Akbar. Allwell.”

Apart from acting, Allwell is also known as a writer, director.

She started her acting career at a young age but it was in 2008 that she began to gain recognition as a professional actress.

Since then, she has appeared in many films including ‘Ile Wa’, ‘Third Eye’, ‘Murder At The Bar’ and ‘Mimi’s Voice’.
