Trevor Noah to host Grammy Awards for fifth year in a row

The Recording Academy announced Noah as this year’s host in a social media post on Tuesday.
The 67th edition of the annual awards ceremony will be held on February 2 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The award organisers said the show will proceed as planned despite ongoing wildfires in the region.

In addition to celebrating the best in music, the ceremony will also raise funds for relief efforts for those affected by the wildfires.
“Returning as host, the Grammy nominee @TrevorNoah is set to take us into music’s biggest night to honor music and amplify support for the music community impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires,” it wrote on X.
Noah will be returning to host the award ceremony for the fifth consecutive year.

Since Burna Boy first won the Grammy Awards in 2021, Nigerian artistes have been more represented at the biggest music awards.
This year, Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Davido, Lojay, Burna Boy, and Tems are nominated in the ‘Best African Music Performance’ category.
Noah, on the other hand, is an award-winning comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, and television host.
He is best known for hosting The Daily Show, an American news satire program, from 2015 to 2022.
