Hollywood’s James Ransone dies by suicide at 46

According to TMZ, the official records from the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office rules the cause of death as suicide.
The Los Angeles police department said it responded to a call at a residence last Friday, where officers completed a death investigation report.
Authorities said there was no suspicion of foul play in the case and listed his manner of death as suicide by hanging.

Ransone’s career spanned more than two decades, with memorable roles on both television and film. He started featuring in small roles in the early 2000s, appearing in the TV shows ‘Ed’ and ‘Third Watch’.
He earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of the troubled dockworker Ziggy in HBO’s ‘The Wire’ second season, a performance that became one of the most iconic in the show’s ensemble.
The actor also appeared in projects such as ‘Generation Kill’, ‘Bosch’ and the horror blockbuster ‘It: Chapter Two’, where he played adult Eddie Kaspbrak.

His other film credits include ‘Sinister’, ‘Tangerine’, ‘The Black Phone’ and its recent sequel.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
