IU and Byeon Woo Seok make first MBC appearance together, teaser for 'Perfect Crown' revealed

IU and Byeon Woo Seok made their first official appearance at MBC together, drawing attention with their remarks and the unveiling of a teaser for their upcoming drama 'Perfect Crown.'

On December 30, the '2025 MBC Drama Awards' were held at MBC Public Hall in Sangam, Seoul, with Kim Sung Jae and Lee Sun Bin serving as hosts.

On this day, IU and Byeon Woo Seok, who are currently filming MBC’s new drama 'Perfect Crown,' appeared on stage as presenters. IU shared, “We’ve been seeing each other a lot lately because of drama filming. Since the story is set in a constitutional monarchy, we often meet wearing glamorous outfits, but today feels like you paid extra special attention.”

Byeon Woo Seok responded, “It’s my first time attending the 'MBC Drama Awards,' so I was more nervous and tried to dress formally. Does it look okay?” IU replied with a smile, “You look especially dashing today, Grand Prince.”

IU also explained, “Today I tried wearing a horse-shaped hairpin. Next year is the Year of the Horse, so I hope good energy spreads,” adding, “This is also my first time greeting viewers through an MBC drama, so please look forward to it.”

Earlier in the ceremony, the first teaser for 'Perfect Crown' was revealed. In the preview, IU appears in a glamorous transformation as chaebol heiress Seong Hui Ju, while Byeon Woo Seok takes on the role of Prince Yi An. IU’s character boldly proposes, saying, “Marry me,” to which Byeon Woo Seok responds, “You’re willing to marry me just to gain a title in name only?” The teaser ends with him declaring, “Prepare yourself to become the Grand Prince’s wife,” heightening anticipation.

Meanwhile, 'Perfect Crown,' starring IU and Byeon Woo Seok, is scheduled to air in the first half of 2026.
