'30th Busan International Film Festival' opens with star-studded red carpet

The '30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF 2025)' commenced on September 17 with its official opening ceremony and red carpet event at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae District. Marking three decades as Asia’s leading film festival, this year’s edition welcomed a distinguished lineup of domestic and international guests.

At the Busan Cinema Center’s Medium Theater in Haeundae, the '30th Busan International Film Festival' opened with a press screening and conference for its opening film 'No Other Choice,' directed by acclaimed filmmaker Park Chan Wook. The opening ceremony, hosted exclusively by actor Lee Byung Hun, featured the world premiere of the film, with cast members Son Ye Jin, Park Hee Soon, Lee Sung Min, and Yeom Hye Ran joining on the red carpet alongside BIFF’s Chief Programmer Park Ga Eon, signaling the beginning of the festival’s 10-day program.

Among the prominent figures in attendance were Han Hyo Joo, Lee Soo Hyuk, Kim Yoo Jung, Keum Sae Rok, Lisa, Teo Yoo, Lee Jin Wook, Shin Ye Eun, Bang Minah and Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi. Maggie Kang, director of 'KPop Demon Hunters,' also joined the celebration. Additionally, Han So Hee, Jun Jong Seo, and YooA posed for the cameras, highlighting the wide presence of global talent.

The '30th Busan International Film Festival' will be held from September 17 to 26, presenting an expanded program of screenings, special showcases, and anniversary events. Screenings and official programs will take place at the Busan Cinema Center and throughout the Haeundae district.
