Kim Jae Joong shares honest thoughts on a potential TVXQ comeback together

Kim Jae Joong has shared his honest thoughts on the possibility of a TVXQ reunion, saying it is not something that can happen simply because the members want it to.

The singer and actor addressed the topic during an interview in Seoul ahead of the release of his new film, “Shinsa: Whisper of Evil Spirits.”

Set to premiere on June 17, the Japanese-Korean occult horror film follows a shaman named Myung Jin, played by Kim Jae Joong, as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of three university students and confronts a sinister evil spirit.

During the interview, Kim Jae Joong was asked about the possibility of TVXQ reuniting. He responded cautiously, describing the subject as highly sensitive.

“It’s not something I can easily comment on,” he said. “It’s not only about my opinion. The opinions of the other members are important as well, and everyone has to consider not only their own feelings but also their circumstances and surroundings.”

He continued, “Just because you want something doesn’t mean it can happen. I’m not sure these things can be decided by feelings alone.”

Kim Jae Joong also reflected on his experience as a fan in the past, saying that he once wished to see his favorite artists reunite as complete groups, only to later realize that every person has their own situation and responsibilities.

To explain his point, he compared the matter to his own family. As the youngest of nine siblings, he noted that family gatherings are not always attended by everyone.

“In my family, sometimes one person comes to a holiday gathering and another can’t. Everyone has built their own lives and families, and they each have their own circumstances,” he said. “I think it’s similar.”

Beyond acting, Kim Jae Joong is currently active as the founder of iNKODE Entertainment, where he is also involved in developing and producing new idol groups. He expressed his passion for supporting younger artists, saying he believes today’s trainees possess tremendous talent and potential.

While remaining careful about reunion discussions, Kim Jae Joong’s comments offered fans a thoughtful perspective on why a TVXQ reunion is more complicated than simply wishing for one.
