Byun Woo Seok and IU warm hearts with thoughtful gifts for the ‘Perfect Crown’ staff

Actors Byeon Woo Seok and IU are earning praise for their considerate gestures toward the cast and crew of their upcoming drama 'Perfect Crown.'

Recently, one of Byun Woo Seok’s makeup staff members posted a photo on Instagram along with the caption “Thank you.” The image showed a pair of Nike Air Force sneakers gifted by the actor. Notably, the number “21” was engraved on one side of the shoe, a meaningful detail referencing “21st century Grand Prince,” subtly tying into the drama’s storyline.

IU has also drawn attention for her generosity on set. Earlier, fellow actor Lee Yeon shared a photo of a premium speaker gifted by IU, writing, “You are the best Santa, boss.” The gift included a warm message that read, “Let’s hang in there just a little longer, our team. Make Hui Ju-mas,” adding to the heartfelt atmosphere among the cast and staff.

The speakers are reportedly priced between 400,000 and 700,000 KRW (approximately 300 to 485 USD) per unit. The thoughtful way both actors have taken care of not only their co-stars but also the behind-the-scenes staff.

Byun Woo Seok and IU will star together in MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama 'Perfect Crown,' set to premiere in the first half of next year. The series is set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in South Korea and follows Seong Hui Ju (played by IU), a wealthy conglomerate heiress frustrated by her commoner status, and Prince Yi An (played by Byun Woo Seok), a king’s son who possesses royal status but is unable to claim anything for himself. Their story unfolds as a romance about fate, identity, and breaking social barriers.

Meanwhile, the two actors are also scheduled to appear together as presenters at the live broadcast of the '2025 MBC Drama Awards,' airing on December 30 at 8:50 PM.
