(G)I-DLE takes legal action against maliciously edited videos and defamatory content
by Demian09 · allkpopOn April 18, Cube Entertainment, the agency representing (G)I-DLE, issued a statement condemning the ongoing malicious editing and distribution of videos involving the group’s members.
The agency voiced concerns about videos being altered to include sexual content, as well as the spread of defamatory, sexually harassing, and maliciously speculative comments.
The statement emphasized, "These actions are not only criminal offenses but also a severe violation of the artist's rights to their image, reputation, and personal dignity."
Cube Entertainment assured fans that they had gathered evidence related to the illegal posts and were preparing all legal actions, both civil and criminal, through their legal representatives. The agency stressed, "We will hold those responsible for spreading or creating these videos, as well as posting insulting comments, fully accountable without any leniency or settlement."
The issue emerged after videos of (G)I-DLE's members attending an awards ceremony were edited and spread online with inappropriate content. Cube Entertainment is now taking legal action against those responsible.
(G)I-DLE, who renewed their contracts with Cube Entertainment in December 2024, has been focusing on the solo activities of its members but is gearing up for a full group comeback in May 2025.

"Hello, this is Cube Entertainment.
We sincerely thank all the fans who love and support our artists, (G)I-DLE.
Recently, maliciously edited videos and content involving (G)I-DLE members have been repeatedly circulated online. Along with this, sexual insults, personal attacks, and malicious speculative comments are spreading indiscriminately.
To protect the rights of our artists, we are issuing the following official statement.
Regardless of whether the original video was filmed in a public space, any act of maliciously editing or fabricating and distributing it, or spreading false information and posting defamatory comments such as sexual harassment or slander, is a clear crime.
These acts are not only criminal offenses but also a serious violation of the artist's rights to their image, reputation, and dignity. We have already secured evidence of these illegal posts and are in the process of preparing all legal procedures through our legal representatives.
In particular, those responsible for maliciously distributing these videos or posting insulting comments will be held fully accountable, with no leniency or settlement. We strongly urge those involved in creating, distributing, or consuming these contents to immediately delete all related posts and comments and cease any further infringing actions.
We will continue to do our best to protect the rights of our artists and foster a healthy fan culture. Thank you."
