The highly anticipated drama 'Perfect Crown,' starring IU and Byeon Woo Seok, was unveiled for the first time at the 2025 MBC Drama Awards.

During the award event that took place on December 30, the trailer for 'Perfect Crown,' one of MBC's most anticipated dramas for the first half of 2026, was revealed.

In the trailer, IU appears as the glamorous chaebol Sung Hee Joo, described as “a woman who has everything except her social status,” while Byeon Woo Seok plays Prince Yi Ahn, introduced as “the king’s son who could not become king.

IU’s character asks, “Are we really in the Joseon era? Planning to climb the social ladder through marriage?” yet proposes to Byun Woo Seok’s character, saying, “Marry me.” He responds, “You’d marry me just to gain a meaningless title?” but then adds, “Prepare yourself to become the Grand Prince’s wife,” sparking curiosity about the story’s direction.

'Perfect Crown' is a fantasy romance set in a constitutional monarchy version of 21st-century Korea. It follows Sung Hee Joo (IU), a chaebol frustrated by her commoner status despite having everything, and Prince Yi Ahn (Byeon Woo Seok), the king’s son who is unable to have anything, as they navigate fate and challenge societal boundaries.
